109th Birthday for Sister Gladys

June 5, 2021

Sister Gladys is an only child and a beautiful lady with an endearing personality, who is loved by everyone. She was  born a Londoner but never travelled on the Underground. She is a very creative person who loves the Arts. She was once an accomplished artist and a beautiful musician who loved to sing and dance.

She has been a Sister for 89 years and has spent her adult life in the service of others. In her later years she had a budgie in her office named “Joey” whom she taught to speak. One time when she was away on holiday Joey died and was replaced by an identical bird. On her return she was so upset as she thought Joey had missed her so much that he had forgotten how to converse with her, so she persevered until she got him to speak again. Joey was such good company.

Thank you, Sister Gladys, for who you are and for all you mean to us – your Sisters in the Province of Rosalie Rendu. We are so proud that you have reached the age of 109!
