Daughters of Charity of St Vincent De Paul is a registered Christian charity with a friendly, welcoming culture and a warm working atmosphere. Our organisational vision is “Kindness is the key to hearts”. 


We are looking for an efficient and friendly individual to work as a Cook for our 5 Sisters in our community section of the house in Liverpool. Previous experience of cooking in a professional environment, and good knowledge of the relevant health and safety regulations would be beneficial. A high standard of performance with a flexible and caring attitude is required. 


The Cook’s duties include planning weekly menus; preparing and cooking food for lunchtime meals; and checking that food stocks are sufficient. Our residents have some dietary requirements, so the diligent selection and preparation of meals is essential. 


We offer: 30 days annual leave (including bank holidays); pension scheme; retail discounts; flexible working requests are welcome. 


We employ people of all faiths and none, but it is essential that the post-holder be committed to learning about, and acting in accordance with the Vincentian values which underpin all aspects of our work.

Miraculous Medal Vision

In 1830, Our Lady appeared Sr Catherine Laboure, a Daughter of Charity novice in our Motherhouse in the Rue du Bac, Paris. Mary appeared to Sr Catherine three times from July 18th until November 27th. She asked the young Sister to have a medal made and gave Sr Catherine detailed instructions on how the medal should look.


It was to become the medal of the people who were to name it the ‘Miraculous Medal’.


Today the Motherhouse Chapel is known as the Chapel of the Miraculous Medal and welcomes pilgrims all day long from Morning Mass until Evening Prayer.
