May Linda’s gift of friendship stay with us

July 7, 2021

Linda!   What a lovely name!  What a lovely woman!   What a lovely presence Linda has been to all of us for the last 24 years, both here in Provincial House Mill Hill, and throughout the province. I’m sure she could write a book about her experiences with the Daughters of Charity, and not all of them related to finance!

As Sheree told us last week, Linda has worked with five Bursars who each had a different approach but all of them appreciated Linda’s unique way of working and being an important part of the financial team.

So, it was with some sadness that we realised we had to say goodbye to Linda.   However, there was no sadness in the celebration – just a day full of fun laughter, and memories!    Everyone contributed to making the day extra special for Linda and Paddy – our catering staff prepared a wonderful BBQ, and our household staff decorated everywhere.  All our staff colleagues came laden with gifts.  It was a wonderful day – we missed Arsene Wenger, but everyone else was here!   The gift from the Province was a Pandora charm bracelet, with at least 12 charms that materialised from different parts of the Province!

Linda is now going to sit back and enjoy her retirement, and put her feet up – at least she thinks she is!  However…..!   We know that her Grandma duties are going to take up more time and energy than anything she has ever done in the financial offices!
