From Monday 7 th March until Friday 18 th March 2022 the Daughters of Charity welcomed eight students discerning God’s call for life as a priest from the Royal English College of St Alban, Valladolid in North West Spain. They were accompanied by their Pastoral Supervisor, Fr Damian Cassidy  O.Carm. These young men spent two week on apostolic placement: Jordan, Michael and Ciaran were made welcome at St Joseph’s Service, Rosewell (adults with learning disabilities); Brian at St Louise Project, Govan Hill, Glasgow (the Roma Community), Thomas at the Passage in Central London(Homeless People) and Rishi, Lukas and Pierre at the NOAH Project, Luton (Homeless People). During their stay each student was mentored by a Daughter of Charity or an affiliate, and encouraged to journal about their experience, seeing people and situations with eyes of faith. It was a good learning experience all round. They were great men and there was a “hole” in our lives when they returned to Spain. We will continue to pray for them as they further discern their future path in life.
