Welcoming Andrew and acknowledging his faithful service

Mr Andrew Hollingsworth was affiliated to Company of the Daughters of Charity of St Vincent de Paul, on 11th October 2025 in Warley, Essex. Affiliation acknowledges collaborators who have gone over and above in their service with the Daughters and whose life demonstrates a deep Vincentian commitment to those most in need. Sister Theresa Tighe, Provincial of the Province of Blessed Rosalie Rendu, formally welcomed Andrew, acknowledging his faithful service to people who are  homeless, always striving to find new and better ways of supporting those most in need, and his longstanding commitment to the Vincentian Volunteers. Fellow Affiliates extended their own welcome to Andrew. Theresa concluded by reminding everyone that our motto -  “The love of Jesus Christ Urges Us” challenges us anew each day. A strong prayer life sustains our faith and deepens our commitment to serve as our Vincentian ethos directs us to do.

Affiliates of the Company are participants in its prayers, good works and spiritual merits.

Sister Theresa Tighe D.C. (Provincial) welcomed Fr Eugene - "It is with deep joy and heartfelt gratitude that we welcome Fr Eugene, our Vincentian brother, as Provincial Director of our province of Blessed Rosalie Rendu." Theresa went on to say that Eugene's previous ministries have shaped him into a compassionate listener, a thoughtful guide, and a faithful companion on our journey of discernment. As we prepare for our upcoming assemblies under the theme 'Artisans of hope and peace,' Fr Eugene's presence is a sign of God's providence. His accompaniment will help us shape a future that is faithful to our charism and responsive to the needs of those we serve - our own sisters, the poor, the forgotten and all whose lives touch ours in any way. In his homily, Fr Eugene emphasised the notion of accompaniment, walking with people as they discover for themselves the freedom that is theirs as beloved children of God. It is up to us to do what God asks of us in good times and not so good times. He emphasized that we are not in control but God is in control and his grace and mercy extends to all of us.
