Double Jubilee Celebration

On Saturday 11th April 2026, Daughters of Charity from the London area gathered in St Vincent's Carlisle Place to celebrated the Diamond Jubilees of Sr Joanna Danson and Sr Margaret Barrett. Fr Paul Roche CM celebrated a Mass of Thanksgiving at the gathering for these Sisters and their families. The liturgy was followed by a home-cooked meal in the beautifully decorated dining room. Fr Paul mentioned the many parts of the world where these two jubilarians had been on mission serving some of the poorest people. Sr Joanna served in England, Ethiopia, Eritrea and Haiti. As a teacher Sr Margaret initially taught in Scotland and Boston Spa. Later she had numerous leadership Roles - notably Provincial and Assistant General- which took her to the five continents.
