Provincial Assembly 2026

April 26, 2026

ARTISANS OF PEACE AND HOPE

From 20–24 April 2026, Sisters of the Province of Rosalie Rendu gathered in Southport for their Provincial Assembly. The coming together of Sisters from Great Britain and Australia, the Assembly offered five days of prayer, reflection, shared discernment and formal decision‑making, all shaped by the theme “Artisans of Peace and Hope.” It was facilitated by Ian McKenzie from Animate.

The Assembly opened with the Mass of the Holy Spirit and a comprehensive Provincial Report from Sr Theresa, reflecting on the journey of the past six years. Sisters were invited to remember major moments in Provincial life, including the Integration of the Provinces of Australia and Great Britain to create the new Province of Rosalie Rendu; the impact of the COVID‑19 pandemic, changes in community life and ministries, and deepened international connections. A prayerful remembrance honoured Sisters who had died since the last Assembly.

Throughout the week, reflection was guided by input from Dr Jessie Rogers, whose presentations helped Sisters explore what it means to live as Artisans of Peace and Hope today. Using the Synodal Process, Sisters listened deeply to one another as they reflected on themes such as attentive listening at the feet of Jesus, humanising relationships, poverty caused by violence, and openness to internationality. Daily prayer and Eucharist grounded this work in faith.

As the Assembly progressed, attention turned to Province Priorities, including the review of houses, wellbeing and ministry, and envisioning the future of the Rosalie Rendu Province. Commitments linked to Ephata – “Be Open” were discussed and agreed, and delegates were elected to represent the Province at the next General Assembly. The Assembly concluded with the approval and signing of the Official Acts, a closing Eucharist, and a strong sense of gratitude and hope. Sisters were sent forth renewed in their shared commitment to live and serve as Artisans of Peace and Hope in today’s World
