May 21, 2026

Looking to the future with hope

Founded 15 years ago Daughters of Charity Services (DCS) is a non-profit umbrella organisation that supports a “family” of 7 charities across Great Britain. It acts as a central hub, helping its member charities with governance, charism & values training, human resources, finance, fundraising, and strategy so they can deliver frontline services. The member Charities are:

Vincentian Care Plus (Westminster – home care services)

The Space (Glasgow -working with the Roma community)

Out There (Manchester – working with the families of Prisoners)

The Listening Heart (Glasgow – drop in centre)

Marillac Neurological Care Centre (Brentwood – neurological care)

St Joseph’s Services (Midlothian – social care services)

St Vincent’s Family Centre (Westminster – family support, food bank, childcare services)

These Charities are rooted in the Vincentian Charism and its values (inspired by St Vincent de Paul), focusing on dignity, compassion, choice practical support and friendship.

Since DCS began 15 years ago, the world has become a different place, legislation and work patterns have changed. A Group Structure is difficult to manage and maintain and so in March 2026 the Member Charities became legally “uncoupled”. The Conference in the Waterfront Hotel. Southport gathered 50 members from the above Charities to give THANKS for all that has been achieved and to look to the future and the kind of Vincentian Network that is needed now. Besides sharing Vincentian Values, good practice and expertise, the new network would also focus on relevant Advocacy Issues.

“For all that has been THANKS! For all to come YES!
